The reason playing with dolls can be so much fun is that they are a great prop for stimulating the imagination and acting out grown up real world scenarios. They are also an outlet for a child’s creativity, as they put their dolls in all kinds of made up situations. Playing with dolls even encourages social skills, because the dolls usually are played with in a way where the dolls represents people who are interacting socially. Kids also play with their toys together so there is usually a double social interaction taking place.

There is a new doll line out called the liv dolls. These are a line of fashion dolls. They are designed to be similar to real girls with pose able limbs, life-like glass eyes, and interchangeable wigs. With these dolls young girls can act out their own imagined scenarios with the dolls. They may not be teens yet, but they are living the life of a teen through these life like dolls.

The dolls are into fashion, hair, music, skateboarding, hanging out with friends, shopping, and playing with their dogs. They are a lot like real girls and help kids to develop skills for life while playing with their dolls. After all one of the most common forms of play is pretending to be something that you may someday be. Such as when kids play house and pretend to be grown ups, or when kids pretend to be a certain career, such as a fireman, policeman, chef, or doctor.

Playing with dolls not only becomes a way to fantasize, act out and plan the future, it is also a way to merge real life and fantasy life. Kids can use their imaginations and for awhile whatever they dream up can be their reality. I guess the point is the greatest toy of all is our amazing creative minds and using our imaginations, but having great toys such as liv dolls can really help to make the play seem a little more life like and a little more real.
