Signs You Need a Team Building Activities

July8

Team building activities can help bridge the gaps between people and groups so they can start to think and act like a cohesive team. Working as a team is one of the easiest ways to boost productivity. There are many situations in which team building activities are helpful, and any of the following signs is your clue to plan or start some group games or some type of activity right away!

Silent Office
If the office is too quiet, meaning no healthy chit chat is going on and people aren’t comparing notes or bouncing ideas off one another, then it’s a sure sign that you need a teambuilding activity to get everyone back to the basics of working as a team. Sometimes people who work together get stuck on working on their own problems that they forget that they are part of a team in which there are others who can help them with work related problems. In this instance, a teambuilding activity would help a team that previously worked well together get back to that team mentality.

Everyone Goes to One Person
If everyone in a group is all going to one person to have that person help with their work related problems, then the team mentality has shifted to one person. Not only is it not fair to that one person to come to only them with issues that need to get fixed, but there are most likely others in the group who would be able to handle some of those problems as well, if not even better than the one person that is getting all of the issues. A teambuilding activity would help the group to realize each person’s strengths so that when an issue comes up, they know just who to take it to so the issue gets handled efficiently and quickly.
