While on my journey of aging gracefully I got an email today from a friend. Included in the email was a Clark Gable photo and quote:

The only reason they come to see me is that I know life is great – and they know I know it.

I sit here at my keyboard, simply allowing Mr. Gable’s quote to percolate with me; and the percolating rhythms add to my feeling great.

Yes, here I’m in my 60s, feeling mighty good; in fact, I’m feeling GREAT because like Clark Gable, I know life is great.

I remember when I first saw Clark Gable on the big screen; he was playing the role of Rhett Butler in the movie classic, Gone with the Wind.

And perhaps like many of Clark Gable’s fans, I too was picking up on his knowing-life-is-great attitude.

Reflecting back on my early years, my aging role models didn’t necessarily emanate the feelings of life is great.

My grandmother’s side of the family were my aging role models, providing me with pictures and stories as to what the later years of life might look like.

Uncle Mart & Aunt Emma; Aunt Murl and Uncle Gil; and Marie and Clyde . . .

Going to visit them was not one of my favorite things to do. They sat and talked; they talked and sat. They talked about what ailed them and what used to be.

Me as a little kid, I loved to run around. I loved to laugh. I loved action, filled with oodles and oodles of joy.

Aunt Murl, God bless her, was challenged by my joyful presence, and let me know on several occasions that my exuberant, spirited actions were most inappropriate.

Yeah, Aunt Murl let me know through her words and actions that being a good boy in her presence meant that I was to sit quietly.

One time around age 3 I attempted to offer Aunt Murl my point of view. Oh, my goodness . . . I can still see her finger shaking at me and the earrings, hanging from her big earlobes, bouncing in perfect rhythm with her shaking finger.

I learned to stifle my music in the presence of Aunt Murl.

Now all these years later, I recognize a life lesson Aunt Murl was teaching me. She chose to live in her sorrows and not to live in joy.

Yes, I admit I am a revolutionary kind of guy . . . revolutionizing the how to play in life’s Act 3 . . . simply letting out the music of the heart.

With aging gracefully – my heart’s music is pure joy; to me, life is great whatever my age may be. And just as I was at three years of age, I still feel my heart’s joy motivating me to move around, creating the music of joyful laughter!

Loving you,

Robert, aka Bob

The centimeter happens to be a unit of measurement used mostly in the modern metric system. Approximately 0.39 inches is its U.S. equivalent. You might know that 1 centimeter is just about a hundredth of 1 meter. Still, you should also know about the simplest conversion methods. It might be very useful if you’re aware of the fact that most newborns are 60cm long and the education we’re about to offer you will let you convert that to inches. It’s a gift puzzle from us that you’ll solve when you’ve read this article! Of course, you could always use an online conversion tool, to save time.

If you want to convert centimeters to inches, there are some interesting alternatives. But to make sure you understand the arithmetic from the core, we’re about to give you some orientations about the basics.

Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to understand how the inches conversion is needed. Funny though, it’s easy to picturing the rough height of people in terms of feet-inches measurement. But when it comes to measuring people’s height in metric system, things can be much confusing.

Without any proper direction, it’s almost impossible for you know, merely by the numerals, whether a guy measured is big, short or average in height. That’s where conversion calculators come in. Fortunately, they’re extensively available in the Internet too. Unfortunately, there are situations when we don’t have any computer handy. In those instances, it’s wiser to make use of simple yet effective arithmetic equations for turning the mystifying centimeter measurement to the equivalent feet or inches.

Multiply your centimeter number by 0.3937. As for an instance, when you’re working with a height of 191 centimeters, you’ll have to multiply that by 0.3937. Thus you will get 75. Done?

Then you have to divide this result from by 12. Thus you’ll get the total feet in your measurement. In our example, it’s 6.26. However, as height is seldom measured or reported in decimals, you’ll have to convert the .26 feet to an equivalent of inches. Fortunately, that’s easy as well. Just multiply a foot (which contains 12 inches) by .26 percent. This will result in 3 inches.

So there you go! Now you can present the final height using feet as well as inches. If you use the same old example of the 191 centimeters we mentioned earlier, your final measurement of height would be roughly 6 feet and 3 inches.

If you want to convert centimeters to inches, there are other ways around to it too! In fact, there are some instances when we need to go backward and forward between inches/feet and centimeters. But if you have a clear understanding of how inches/feet and centimeters are compared among one another, you shouldn’t need to break much sweat multiplying and/or dividing to find your desired results.

Using career management can guide you to determine the right organisation for your future step-up your career ladder. Allowing you to locate a business with the optimum structure, opportunity and community to be most valuable for you. In the current high pressure business society, you will need a certain amount of guidance to effectively command the career you select. Moreover, it is very simple to be so occupied in your existing job that you overlook chances which may propel you to being successful. You may need guidance in regards to the progress inside your arena and help with education options to maximise future job chances. You will definitely need a plan to make certain you remain dedicated to the ambitions.

Typically although you may possess a natural talent for a specific thing, you may not recognise it yourself, or you might not understand how your talent could turn into a career prospect. It really is worth taking a bit of time considering this when you begin job hunting or initiate your own business. If you can appraise your personal passions, skills and capabilities and determine your needs, you will be surely on the road to locating the employment which will be by far the most satisfying for you personally.Making the jump from an employee to running your own business could be completely terrifying! There can be so many considerations that you may ask yourself if you are ever likely to make up your mind to leave your career to start up by yourself. This can be a further avenue where career management solutions can help you. An unbiased outsider could possibly see possible risks you have been ignoring or make you understand that you have been stressing unnecessarily about pointless specifics. As the proprietor of a business enterprise start-up you should absorb all of the guidance you can get from these professionals who know very well what they are speaking about.

Some career management consultants handle the task of practical life coaches. When you’re an individual seeking career advice, the consultant needs to do a lot more that just point you towards a highly-paid job. If you have arrived at a turning point in your career path or else you are uncertain what exactly you want to do, the career manager will have to get to know you before they may help you. This may consist of detailed analysis; not only of your expertise, but additionally what you really take pleasure in executing. Since of course, your employment lifetime may extend for 40 years and that’s many years to expend undertaking a thing you don’t like. It’s possible you’ll only require assistance with creating the ultimate custom C.V. for the perfect position and a career manager can help you with that also.

Senior and executive vacancies seldom get as far as the jobs pages of your regional paper. To stand any chance of obtaining any of the sought-after situations you are likely to have to network. That is included in the process of professional career management consultancy and any competent advisor will make it their business to ensure that you are aware of these options.

Team building activities can help bridge the gaps between people and groups so they can start to think and act like a cohesive team. Working as a team is one of the easiest ways to boost productivity. There are many situations in which team building activities are helpful, and any of the following signs is your clue to plan or start some group games or some type of activity right away!

Silent Office
If the office is too quiet, meaning no healthy chit chat is going on and people aren’t comparing notes or bouncing ideas off one another, then it’s a sure sign that you need a teambuilding activity to get everyone back to the basics of working as a team. Sometimes people who work together get stuck on working on their own problems that they forget that they are part of a team in which there are others who can help them with work related problems. In this instance, a teambuilding activity would help a team that previously worked well together get back to that team mentality.

Everyone Goes to One Person
If everyone in a group is all going to one person to have that person help with their work related problems, then the team mentality has shifted to one person. Not only is it not fair to that one person to come to only them with issues that need to get fixed, but there are most likely others in the group who would be able to handle some of those problems as well, if not even better than the one person that is getting all of the issues. A teambuilding activity would help the group to realize each person’s strengths so that when an issue comes up, they know just who to take it to so the issue gets handled efficiently and quickly.

It can be intimidating to go back to school. The average college student age is 20.6 years of age. The traditional college student age gap is between 18 and 22 years of age. Those statistics can be extremely intimidating for someone that is older than those ages. But, going back to school shouldn’t be scary.

Going back to school just got a lot easier. Thousands of colleges and universities have begun putting their curriculum online. What does this mean? No more wasting money on commuting to and from class. No more waiting for the bus. No more waiting in long lines to register. No more sitting in class with 100+ strangers and being forced to choose 4-6 of them for your group. That’s right…you can start and finish your college experience online.

The number of college students is on the rise due to the weak economy. These students have caught the vision of preparing for the future. In order to protect your future, you need to have a college education. This education is easily obtainable now that many universities have put courses online. Online courses are fast, convenient and affordable. It’s now or never time to finish your education. Which will you choose?

The present economic downturn has made it extremely difficult for many teenagers to find employment. However, several industry sectors continue to seek employees, including areas often favored by teenagers, such as retail outlets. Being aware of your own skill set and knowing the specific legalities of teenage employment are keys to securing employment.

A very useful way to seek employment is through the use of online job applications. Human resources personnel at large businesses such as Target are always interested in finding good employees, and they perform a great deal of their searches via the Internet. It is never too early to begin composing a resume.

A resume only needs to include skills, talents and past achievements if you don’t have any prior work experience. Many teenagers possess good social skills and many positions often targeted toward their age group further help hone such abilities, help them successfully interact with supervisors, and help foster the teamwork skills necessary to accomplish tasks.

In a number of jurisdictions, teens must be at least sixteen years old to begin work, and in certain areas, a worker’s permit may be required. Depending on the employee’s age and also the time of year, the hours a teenager is permitted to work may be restricted. Jobs for 16 year olds are the most sought out as that is when teens usually start looking for work for the first time.

Once a teenager has confirmed that he or she is legally eligible to work, they need to determine what type of work would suit them best. For instance, a teen who likes working with garments, meeting people and assisting shoppers may find that a job in a retail store would be a great fit. Someone more interested in a manual type of position may be interested in delivering food for a restaurant. For instance, popular jobs for 16 year olds and up are delivery jobs for places like Papa Johns and Domino’s.

Despite all of the bad economic news of late, retail stores will consistently require staff. A teenager’s first job typically represents their first foray into the world of self-sufficiency and personal discovery. It is important for teenagers to persevere and expect that their job search may not yield immediate success. It may be upwards of six months before they land a position, though teenagers ought to be diligent in their use of online tools, expand their search as widely as possible, and be certain that they are responsible enough to handle a job. By adhering to these simple guidelines, most teenagers will be able to land a job and begin work.

There aren’t a lot of thing worth going into debt for these days, but a college education may be the exception to the rule. Historically, people have been more than willing to go into debt for some of the bigger items in our lives. Things like homes and automobiles. Things that we all need to live a comfortable life, and are necessities. But of all those items, none will payback in a way that a college education will. It’s the first stepping stone to our grown up lives, and is a key influence in what kind of professional career we will have. Our college experience introduces us to people we’ll know for the rest of our lives, and gives us experiences we’ll always remember. Everyone who chooses to do so, should be able to attend college, regardless of their financial backing. College grants make it easier for those starting life from a position of financial disadvantage to get a decent education.

While I was fortunate to be able to go to a college in my home town, and get some scholarship money during my later years, not everyone is so lucky. Traveling out of state to go to college, and living away from home introduces an entirely new set of expenses to consider when going to a post secondary institution. Tuition and books are expensive enough, but adding additional living expenses to the bill can make it pretty steep. It is possible to be a working student, but quite often your grades and school work will suffer. Fortunately, if you know where to look, grants for college are available for just about everyone. There are grants available for all sorts of different schools from varying sources.

It’s hard to put a hard value on an education, since you get so much out of it. Not just the knowledge from your studies, but also connections to people that can help you later in life, and a lot more open doors to further and better yourself later on. College grants essentially enable you to better yourself, which is always the best investment you’ll ever make.

The reason playing with dolls can be so much fun is that they are a great prop for stimulating the imagination and acting out grown up real world scenarios. They are also an outlet for a child’s creativity, as they put their dolls in all kinds of made up situations. Playing with dolls even encourages social skills, because the dolls usually are played with in a way where the dolls represents people who are interacting socially. Kids also play with their toys together so there is usually a double social interaction taking place.

There is a new doll line out called the liv dolls. These are a line of fashion dolls. They are designed to be similar to real girls with pose able limbs, life-like glass eyes, and interchangeable wigs. With these dolls young girls can act out their own imagined scenarios with the dolls. They may not be teens yet, but they are living the life of a teen through these life like dolls.

The dolls are into fashion, hair, music, skateboarding, hanging out with friends, shopping, and playing with their dogs. They are a lot like real girls and help kids to develop skills for life while playing with their dolls. After all one of the most common forms of play is pretending to be something that you may someday be. Such as when kids play house and pretend to be grown ups, or when kids pretend to be a certain career, such as a fireman, policeman, chef, or doctor.

Playing with dolls not only becomes a way to fantasize, act out and plan the future, it is also a way to merge real life and fantasy life. Kids can use their imaginations and for awhile whatever they dream up can be their reality. I guess the point is the greatest toy of all is our amazing creative minds and using our imaginations, but having great toys such as liv dolls can really help to make the play seem a little more life like and a little more real.

Every student longs for their Summer break. The countdown to Summer begins early in a student’s education. The countdown becomes more intense as education reaches higher levels. College students often take the Summer off. But, is this an effective approach to University or Online College study?

You don’t have to be enrolled in college classes or taking University courses to receive an education during the Summer. Keeping up on your education is a smart way to get ahead for the upcoming Fall. Here are some easy things that you can do to be education savvy during the Summer.

1. Read. Reading is one the easiest and best ways to learn. Read a variety of books for a wider knowledge base. You don’t have to only read educational books. Try reading a novel or science-fiction book. Your vocabulary is sure to increase, as well as your knowledge concerning a wide range of subjects.

2. Internship. Try getting a internship for the Summer. You don’t have to work an insane amount of internship hours. You can easily find an internship that will allow you to come for just a few hours per week. Some college students need to have a part-time or even a full-time job. Therefore, they don’t necessarily have time to take on a full-time internship as well. The good news is that internships are flexible.

3. Review. What would it hurt to review your notes from the previous semester? The information you learn in the upcoming Fall semester will compound on the information you have previously learned. Take a few minutes every day to review past notes, quizzes and tests. You probably even have a few study guides that you could go over.

Summer is a time to enjoy. But, don’t ‘enjoy’ it so much that you let your education slip down the drain. You have worked so hard to get your college or University education. Take a few steps during the Summer to ensure that your education path is right on track with the courses you have taken and will take in the future.
